Mouldy black raw carrots, completely undercooked roast potatoes and pigs in blankets, packet gravy, and somehow it was worse than that because nothing had any flavour. Christmas pudding was a slab of heated up Christmas cake and custard. The sticky toffee pudding was even worse, the pudding consistency was not so much a sponge but a sort of collapsing mulch of something. It’s really not hard to cook an edible Christmas dinner, unless you’re trying to rip off customers by using the worst/not fresh ingredients and chefs who are not being able to get just basic cooking right.
My partner and I wandered up at about midday on a Sunday, saw a sign saying we couldn't enter from the side we had, so went back down the stairs, across the courtyard area, and back up the other side. Because we can read instructions. Went up the stairs at the entrance, and the colleague working at the door said they weren't open yet but we could wait, so we did. In that time a truly horrible couple of men entered through the wrong side, then started having a go at this colleague, prompting another member of staff and a security guard to come over to assist them. These men were being so rude, taking photos of the staff etc. simply because they'd been told not to enter from the side they had (where the very readable sign was) and they had to leave. Eventually they opened and we were able to go inside, chatting to the super friendly staff all of them on the way. They were grateful for any offers of help we could give with the rude men that had been outside, and honestly, we got the impression that they're used to this sort of attitude from customers. Just because you're a customer, doesn't mean you're right. Maybe try a bit of kindness, politeness, and compassion, and like us, you'll get it back. By the way, the beers were lovely. Jubel in an iced glass? Amazing!
Most arrogant door staff I have ever come across. We had had dinner in the food market with the view to going to lock side for drinks. We walked to the bar with half a drink left of our take away drinks that we had with dinner the doorman explained we could not enter with our drinks totally understandable. We walked to the little bridge behind the bar where we found a bin and disposed of our drinks. We re approached the entry to the bar where we were told under no circumstances could we go in because we had finished our drinks too quickly….. they wouldn’t listen that we had disposed of our drinks and ignored every attempt to explain to them the fact we came to London to visit this bar makes their behaviour even worse. Avoid at all costs because if you don’t suit their vibe they aren’t interested in letting you in. Complete jobsworths! I’ll be emailing the brewery directly!
After a difficult time we were coming down to London for the weekend. The weather looked promising so we wanted to eat outside We knew it would be busy so booked at this restaurant. Got an email acknowledging the request and then another confirming the booking. As we got to our hotel we received another email cancelling booking as they said they were busy. This clearly translates as ‘We said you were booked but got a more lucrative offer’. We had planned our evening round the booking as we’d arranged to meet friends after. Absolutely appalling way to treat customers. Just wish you could give zero stars
Gooof vibes and good people smoking area is the garden is the best in the area plus staff are really chilled and cool
