We had 4:45 reservations and arrived on time to find you have to walk up a steep set of stairs to get to your table. Not ideal for and 86 year old person you are treating to a holiday dinner. Got sat on the first floor instead. Fine but very loud with the bar so close. It took quite awhile for us to get our drinks, though it was not very crowded. We waited patiently.Giving 3 stars because the food was delicious. Pastas, Brussels sprouts, pizza and egg plant, all excellent! Would be 5 for food but read on for the 3 star review. How they have no beer taps is beyond me. So many local breweries and not one tap? They were out of the first canned beer we ordered. Celebration by Sierra Nevada. It took a long time for the server to relay this to us. The other options were not even comparable. The Wi-Fi and internet were down so they brought out dinner before appetizers, ugh. However, kind of made up for it by bringing us 2nd drink on the house because they accidentally made/opened double. The real reason for the 3 star (probably should be less than 3 stars), they proceeded to tell us at 6:10 they had a 6:15 reservation for our table…really?!? This was not cool even if it were the truth, plenty of open tables near us and up the steep stairs. We were finishing our drinks then heading out anyway, so rushing us was rude and just poor customer service. Not sure if we would go back, the food was great, too bad the rest of the experience just plain sucked. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options.
While the food was decent, the service left much to be desired. The pizzas were passable, but the Brussels sprouts were overly soft and lacked flavor. They needed more crunch and significantly less sauce. The service was below average; we waited nearly 15 minutes just to place our drink order, and the server asked for our food order three times because they hadn't written it down. We chose this restaurant for a friend's birthday as they enjoy it, but I wasn't impressed and likely won't return.
The food is good. Pizza and pasta are excellent, as are the cocktails.Had a small issue with service(misplaced one of our orders). But it was sorted out in short order and we were compt desert for our table, which was very nice. Our main issue was with noise, we had a hard time hearing our server, which may or may not have contributed to the order issue.Would definitely eat here again.
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but unfortunately, the quality has really declined. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked and soggy, and the beet salad seemed to be made with canned beets instead of the nice roasted ones I was expecting. It was unappetizing and bland. The scallops and risotto dish, which used to be available as a small plate, is now a $32 entrée. Why the change? On a positive note, our waiter was very friendly, and the outdoor seating was lovely. However, I was disappointed with the food.
