The pastry itself was delicious while the filling with good. The only difficulty is that it is quite a small place and very packed. They sold out of chocolate croissants before we arrived, which was disappointing. We will definitely be back!!
I love Knead! We go to the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets most Sundays and usually stop at Knead for a coffee and something to eat. Their pastries are delicious and one of my favourite things is the lychee and rose water danish! My partner thinks that Knead has the best croissants in Canberra. They have some yummy sandwiches too and their bread is delicious especially the baguettes when they're fresh from the oven! I've also taken my family here when they visit from QLD and they love it. It does get busy so get takeaway or grab the first free table you see! eatcanberra.com.au
I often pop by the Belconnen markets on the way home at the end of the day, so the pastry selection is often rather limited, but nonetheless, still delightful. My last visit I got the salted caramel cupcake and lemon meringue tart which came to $11 together. I always like to get a classic flavour such as the lemon meringue tart because its always interesting to discover where the 'best lemon meringue tart' is in Canberra, or 'best croissants' are. The lemon meringue tart had the perfect amount of lemon, and the filling wasn't set so hard, it had the perfect lemon curd texture and creaminess, yet the tartness prevented it from being sickly sweet. I have to say these are the best I've had so far. The salted caramel cupcakes was also perfectly balanced, not too sweet with the salted caramel, but nothing super special that would make me buy it again. The staff are extremely wonderful and patient, especially with me when it comes to trying to pick just a few desserts to take home, rather than one of each :P moodandfood.wix.com

I love croissants and eaten the best everywhere I went in France, Europe and, surprisingly - at a French Deli in Indianapolis, USA. Imagine my surprise at finding delicious pastries prepared by a bunch of dedicated pastry chefs at the Knead Cafe in the Belconnen Markets. They are $5 but huge and worth ever cent you pay. I also tried their Danish and savoury pastries, which were equally as delicious. My rating is for the pastries and the service by this group of young men. They were friendly, helpful and cheerful. I hope to try out the coffee one day when I have more time. This is my bakery-to-go to since discovering their delicious pastries!
