Pancake Parlour The - Canberra

Went here for brekkie. Cost $60 (2 farmers breakfasts with drinks), so not on the cheap side. The food is ok, nothing super exciting. Pancakes were good. Eggs and the chipotle sausages were average. For a place with higher than average prices you would think there'd be something special about the place. Nope. The food came out quickly and that was the only good thing about the service. The place wasn't super busy but once we were seated the waitresses didn't spare any pleasantries. The plates were pretty much dropped on the table and the ordering process bordered on rude. We asked for some tomato sauce and the waitress appeared annoyed and replied with 'yeah, if we have any'. She then yelled at the kitchen asking if there was any tomato sauce. Eventually we got some, but it seemed like a big deal. :/All in all, we have no plans to go back. We went there ages ago and the service and food was enjoyable. The standards have totally dropped and the place isn't worth the extra dollars.

Visited here to just relive the pancake experience. The decor is very tired and the restaurant smells like it could do with a thorough clean, but the pancakes were just as fluffy and flavourful as ever. The service is fast and very friendly. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. I can't wait to return.

I went to this restaurant for breakfast and decided to try the eggs benedict pancakes. Despite the high cost of over $18, the portion size was very small with two overcooked eggs, a single slice of ham, and a small pancake. I also made the mistake of adding hash browns for an additional $5, which turned out to be a thin sheet of grated potatoes that was fried. Overall, I was not pleased with the experience and do not recommend this place to others.

We didn't like any of the restaurants in Manuka so drove into Civic and went to an old favourite. Had not been here for over a year but it was as wonderful as ever.Seated immediately, drink order taken as we went to the booth and dinner order taken when the drinks came out. Both mains were as ordered, items 'on the side' were and the meals were hot. Deserts and coffees were ordered after a comfortable pause. These were delicious, as expected.Feeling well fed and relaxed we returned to the hotel.

First time visit, staff were very quick to acknowledge. Seated and orders taken within 10minutes. Food arrived very soon after. Fantastic food! Great staff! Highly recommended
