Saffron is upscale Mediterranean with an attention to service.
Yet another visit to Canberra, this time a road trip with my bestie for Anzac day. So many people to see and only here for 4 days. Decided to all meet at Saffron as i always have had great service and even better food. All 10 of us met up. Started with our dips and lebanese bread, heated with olive oil and herbs. Just beautiful. Beetroot dip, hommus, and baba ghanoush. Absolutely delicious. Then went on to a huge variety of hot foods and my favourite salad, fattoush. All was just delicious. Decided with a big group just to ask for big selection of share plates, which was a great decision. Oh, as well as the salad also has the saffron rice which was just delish. Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere. The service was terrific!!!!!!If you visit Saffron the mushrooms, zuccini puffs and skewers with the lamb backstrap are a must. Thankyou Saffron, see you on my next trip to canberra.
While I have eaten middle eastern food on many occasions , I am far from an expert on this cuisine . Three visits to Saffron have been very in tone with my palet . I love the atmosphere and enjoy the friendly service . The generous meal sizes are fair value for freshly prepared and piping hot food . All meals are not served at the same time , suggest you dine as couple or foursome , and minimise this problem .
We visited this restaurant around Xmas time when many were closed. Everything was good and we enjoyed our experience.
