I had dinner here with family mid week. There weren't too many people dining early on, which made it nice and quiet and the service very fast. There was a choice on the menu to have Nepalese food or other Asian type food. We chose to share a few Nepalese dishes, the best one being tiger prawns in Nepalese curry. The price was very reasonable and plenty of food to fill you up. The only drawback was that this was a typical frosty Canberra night and the heating was struggling to keep the room warm enough.
Tucked away downstairs at the Curtin shops is this lovely gem of a restaurant. The very reasonably priced, good range of vegetarian and meat dishes are comprehensively described in the menu and we had no trouble choosing our own combination to share as an evening meal. The Mo mo (dumpling) entrees were a very tasty start and our mains of Bheda Ko Masu (lamb), Daal Bahat (beef) and Malai Kofta (paneer) were also delicious. The Hungry Buddha is BYO with low per person corkage costs. The friendly staff were efficient and appropriately attentive. Looking forward to another meal here.
Went there with a group and got the banquet. Service was slow, waited long time for entree and also then the main. Virtually no service, no one came to top up our water or ask if we wanted more drinks or even coffee/tea or desserts. We had to approach for the bill as we were just left at the table waiting for someone to clear the table or offer us more service. Food was nothing special. Would not go back.
Excellent food . Atmosphere was good. Friendly faces everywhere . Never tried Indian food before and after this experience will definitely try some more .
