Husrev - Cankaya

By far, this was the best bean dish I have ever had in my life. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but the price-to-performance ratio is great. One plate may fill you up, but you'll find yourself wanting more!

This restaurant has been the go-to place for beans in Ankara for many years. Since I'm not particularly fond of this dish, I never chose it as my first option when dining out, so my last visit was around 15 years ago. Back then, I thought it was decent, and I feel the same now after going again recently. The dishes are quite oily, but it's not the kind of oil that upsets the stomach. The beans are well-cooked and really tasty; however, they tend to be overly sweet, which is likely due to the type of beans used. I wasn't a fan of the rice. The grilled meatballs have a nice absence of an overpowering meat smell, but they don't really give you the urge to want to eat meatballs there. For dessert, I tried the rice pudding, which was served with plenty of hazelnuts. Aside from being quite sweet, I thought it was quite good. It seems they don’t add starch or similar ingredients, so it wasn't rock-hard and had a nice, slightly watery consistency. Overall, I would say the place is expensive, and I believe you can find similar flavors elsewhere at a lower price.

We visited on Saturday around 8 PM, so there was no roasted meat left for us to try. Don’t expect free offerings like salad, pickles, or spreads when you go—it’s all extra. This is one downside I can mention. For example, pickles cost 6 TL, and yogurt is 9 TL. The rice was buttery and fluffy, but it was a bit dry since we went in the evening. As for the beans, they are definitely worth the price you pay. The quality of the other dishes is debatable, but the main goal is to enjoy the beans, right?

Finally, they find homemade food flavored . the best bean I have never eaten in the turkey. big eating makes you miss home
