I have been to Newfoundland 4 times, and this was the first time that this restaurant was opened. So I decided to give it a try. The place was pretty empty, so I figured I would have good service. It was anything but. Service was pretty slow. The chowder was very thick and was about 90% potatoes and carrots. There was very little seafood in it. For the price that was charged, it as a disappointment. The fish was nothing special. There was 2 pieces of fish and not a lot of fries. The fish was dry For desert I had a home made coconut cream pie. The dough was too thick and the filling was way to thick. It was like eating cement. Of all the restaurants I ate at on my 1 month trip, this was the worst. I would not recommend the place unless there are no other alternatives.
Unfortunately I didn't like the service, I was left with an empty glass of water. The fish cakes and salads was good. I decided to left the restaurant earlier because she didn't go to see if everything was ok. Hope the service improve.
We tried a few restaurants as we crossed on the ferry to and from NS. This was by far the better place to eat. It gets quite busy at dinner time so try to go before the ferry arrives. We ordered the bruschetta flatbread to start and enjoyed it. My husband had scallops and shrimp(very good) and I had the Cobb Salad(good). The service was good and staff attentive. We would definitely come back to this restaurant when visiting the island.
We wanted a last Newfoundland meal before boarding the ferry so we stopped here. It was open late and the view of the ocean at night was beautiful. We both went for the pan fried cod--can't get my fill of that dish. It was good, piping hot. But the best part was the view of the harbor. This happened in July 2019. Sorry for the lateness of the review.
