Woolamai Pizza - Cape Woolamai

Had to drop down to 3 stars for food because their gluten free bases are never cooked through, the regular pizzas are great. Many pizza places can do good gluten free bases, so it’s not that. Also, one gluten free person in a group then the whole group has to order somewhere else to accommodate. The guys in there are funny. It is a vibe! Wish we could’ve made them a regular place to order. If you change gluten free bases, we will certainly be back!

Have been here once before and had a great experience, and decided to come back for the yummiest vegetarian pizza on the island, but had the unfortunate luck of running into an incredibly rude, miserable male cashier behind the counter today. This guy screamed at us loudly, only because a couple in our friend group were holding hands. He said something along the lines of keeping our hands off as it was a ‘family friendly’ business. He was so loud, and after he screamed at us, looked at another guy behind the counter and they laughed, both of them feeling proud at having verbally harassed us. For a while, we were too shocked to react but ultimately decided to walk out without ordering. They sarcastically said bye as we were walking out. Not sure if they were drunk on the Easter long weekend or if this is the norm for this place. I don’t think this review is going to make any difference to this person’s attitude or to the business, but it might serve as a source of comfort for others who he chooses to target. If holding hands is enough to trigger him, he must be really sad and miserable and who knows who he might target next. Writing this review as we felt spineless leaving without saying anything as we were in shock. Might or might not have been racially motivated since there was a total of one other customer there, who was white, and he seemed to be enjoying himself while this was happening. Thanks for ruining our night and our holiday.
