They look after you like a long lost friend, the menu is vast and the kitchen works double time to get it all out as the place was full to bursting. Starters of garlic bread with cheese and a prawn cocktail. The tiger bread was toasted in garlic butter and a layer of cheese is added, how something so simple can taste so good. The prawn cocktail was tasty and plentiful. Mains of T bone steaks muscles and pasta were all amazing and so good. We were so full no chance to try desserts so we just settled for the bill and went home happy.
My family and i have loved this restaurant for over 20 years we have become friends with the beautful staff and cannot praise them highly enough.the food is fantastic as is the wine always a lovely atmosphere sylvia is like part of our family simply the best .
My family started going to Merolas when our children were young, along with my sister, brother-in-law, and their daughter. We moved away and hadn't been back in years. However, my husband decided to celebrate his 60th birthday at the restaurant with our family, which was a nostalgic trip for all of us. The evening was fantastic - everyone enjoyed their meals, the younger generation had a blast, and some first-time visitors said they would definitely come back. There were 18 of us in total, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Merolas remains the same traditional, family-run Italian trattoria with no frills, just excellent food, great hospitality, and a warm welcome. A big thank you to all the staff for making our evening so special. Julie and Chris Rudry.
I have always been consistent with my reviews and have shared our honest experience for the benefit of the Tripadvisor community. Regarding Merola's, some may consider us biased as we live in the same suburb and have been loyal customers for thirty years. However, due to Covid and other reasons, we have not dined here in over three years. I can't believe what we have been missing! After reading a feature on Merola's in WalesOnline on December 30th, 2022, we decided to book a table for that very night. Run by head chef Nick, his wife Sylvia, and her brother Spiro, you will be warmly welcomed as if you are part of their family. The food is exceptional and the value for money is outstanding. We enjoyed three starters, mains, a large carafe of house red wine, four drinks, and the total bill was only £91. If you are unsure where to dine, I highly recommend Merola's for a fantastic dining experience. You will truly enjoy every aspect of your meal.
Once again I had a fabulous take away from Merola's. I have been having take away's from there for years. wish I could get there more often.
