Queens Vaults - Cardiff

I stopped by this restaurant in Cardiff to watch the Chelsea Everton FA Cup match while spending the weekend in town. I was very impressed with the quality of the televisions as well as the billiards tables...

Queens Vault is a unique dining spot with a decor and layout reminiscent of a warehouse. It lacks a bit of personality, but still stands out in its own way.

The Vaults in Cardiff would win the award for having the stickiest tables in the city. While it's not my favorite pub to visit, I often find myself being drawn back despite that.

Six of us met with wives in the Queens Vaults for a get together, it started off very well with a great choice of Drinks, lovely choice on the Juke box by someone in the bar, Then for some reason a young member of staff came to the Juke box and put on around 25 minutes worth of Heavy metal, LOUD !! it drove the other 8 couples sharing a long table with us out of the pub. We stuck it out for another drink, and even considered ordering food, until the same member of staff pulled up a stool in front of the Juke box and selected another load of heavy metal, we didn't stay have our ears assaulted by Metal and thrash at 5,30pm on a Friday evening. The music certainly didn't suit the demographic of the pub, mostly older couples enjoying a few drinks. So there you have it,, good pub, great drinks plenty of room , but 14 money spending punters driven out by one member of staff. wont bother again.. plenty of other bars there.

We wanted to experience a local pub and it happened to be a night Wales we’re playing in the World Cup, so we got to speak to the locals all dressed in their colours supporting their team on for a 2-0 win. So glad we chose this place to have a good meal and beers with friends. We had two mains and drinks for under $30 pounds, which was very reasonable based on our experiences to date. They’d run out of the steaks we wanted but had a very good rump, chips and salad for $10 pound plus our friends had a great pie and chips, although they’d left the label on it We had a great evening and would definitely go back if in the area again
