Well-conceived venue with a short order menu to match the sheer size and quantity of seating. Great share plates, pizzas and beverage offerings. Service was excellent, if not a little forced at times. Very busy for a Wednesday night!
I'm a fussy ex-Melbourne foodie and the food at Martha Street Kitchen is seriously good. It was so fresh, hand made, great menu, good variety. Really loved it. It was also great for kids and we took our young toddler. My only issue was the service. It wasn't bad. It was just the two ladies that run it were just not overly friendly or helpful. I know this won't bother many but for me it just adds to the ambience and fun when you have people running the place that are warm and make you feel welcome. I just didn't walk out thinking 'oh, that was such a fantastic night'. It was more like 'yeah the food was delicious so I'll go back for the food'. The decor is very 'cool' but the timber bench is uncomfortable. They do have cushions (not that I was offered one). I think it's just abit stark. If you are reading this perhaps just a piece of bright art work (check out 'crate expectations' and their range of art work - slim arrons picture or a Christine Minter.) The place just needs some warmth. However, we will definitely be back for the food!

Delicious dinner for five with all ages. We enjoyed entrées of chicken, calamari and brussel sprouts. We all had pastas which were superb. The highlights were the mussel pasta, which was delicious and the Brussel sprouts for entree which were a massive surprise for us. The atmosphere was bustling but cosy and the decor and plates were on point. Very much enjoyed our evening at this new restaurant ????
Best meatballs around. Other highlights were the sausage pasta and the gnocchi (it had beautiful flavours). The ragu was a little bland though. Service was pretty slow but the food was great!
