Potager - CAROOL

A lovely day in the country. Allow plenty of time to drive there along twisty mountain roads and to explore their garden. Excellent food with imaginative menu which features meat but also vegetarian. Loved the local clayware crockery. If you love a view request a deck or window table as most of this little old cottage is internal focusing.

I like the idea behind Potager and the premises are beautiful. However a relaxing dining experience should not be interpreted as finding your own way to your table and waiting before receiving water and menus.Taken it was busy but that's why there are bookings to forward plan. Usually the specials of the day showcase the Restaurant's food. Unfortunately the dining experience was let down by the execution of its meals. For example we all have an idea of how Mussels should be presented. However the mussels of the day arrived some with their beards and swimming in a bowl of buttery fluid. Osso Bucco should be melt in the mouth tender however there were hard bits.The Asian salad accompanying the Master stock Duck was very bland.Obviously they must be doing something right to deserve all the other great reviews, but it wasn't on our visit unfortunately.

We visited Potager on a cold wet Saturday lunchtime to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What an amazing find this was,the food and service was excellent.We will certainly be returning to try more from the interesting,varied menu.

Just in my back yard I discovered a pocket of paradise! I had heard of this restaurant opened only on weekends Friday lunch and dinner Saturday lunch and dinner and Sunday lunch! Wow I,m so lucky to be fortunate enough to live in this part of the world of northern nsw. The flavours the food the excellent service and omg views to the coast this is so worth booking into and you must as it has become extremely busy such a friendly hub of this part of the world! One word yum!!!!!

We had a family occasion ( 7 people ) and requested an outside table and then reconfirmed our reservation and table request prior to the day of arrival. When we arrived and were taken to an inside table we advised the man we specifically asked for an outside table to be told that they don't seat more than 4 people to a table outside! If this was in fact the case I would kindly make the suggestion that you should clearly state this information when the reservation was made, not wait until the diners arrive for them to be disappointed. Funnily enough the man returned to our table after we had finished our main course ( around 2.30pm when most people had left ) and asked if we would like to move to an outside table and have dessert and coffee!! Obviously we declined. If a mistake was made and our request overlooked please have the decency to apologise. A sincere apology is a much easier "pill to swallow". Needless to say we won't be returning to Potager.
