Smallcakes Cupcakery - Cary

I ordered 108 mini cupcakes for my grandparents' vow renewal ceremony. I called two weeks ahead to confirm the pickup date and time. When I arrived to pick up my order, the worker couldn't find it. Despite showing proof of payment and my order, there was confusion and delay. After 15 minutes of waiting, the order was finally found. The worker apologized for the mix-up but offered no discount or compensation. The handling of the situation was unprofessional and made me doubt my order. Despite a long drive, I had to return later to pick up the cupcakes.

This place was truly a blessing. After trying for two weeks to find a bakery that could accommodate my daughter's egg allergy, with no luck, I was feeling hopeless. Just three days before her birthday, someone recommended Small Cakes to me. I was skeptical, but desperate, so I decided to give it a try. Despite being fully booked, the amazing staff squeezed in a cake for my daughter's first birthday. The cake was not only beautiful, but they went above and beyond to match the colors of her birthday dress and even create a constellation design to match her name, Celestia. I am beyond grateful for their last-minute help and cannot thank them enough.

They have gluten free cupcakes on Saturdays or for order ahead. They?re all a vanilla cake but you can get whatever frostings/garnishes you want on them! The cake was moist and soft, not at all grainy. And the frostings were amazing too! Sodelicious. I would recommend it, it?s cute and tasty.

A little bit disappointing. Yes, the cupcakes are good. However If you really are looking for top notch baking, their creativity falls a bit short. They take the easy way out by only topping the cupcakes with their (admittedly) good buttercreamtoppings. A cupcake-ateria should be filling their cupcakes and they should be so moist and decadent that you can't possiblymake your own that good. Everyone with me agreed that my own were better. That shouldn't happen. Hence, 3 stars.

This restaurant is amazing! We brought our 3-year-old here to choose some cupcakes for his birthday and he loved it, as did we. It was incredibly cute, cozy, and clean. We ate outside on the patio, and the staff was very pleasant, professional, and fast. The cupcakes were amazing and delicious. The flavors of the day were perfect, especially the Birthday Cake Cupcake. I highly recommend this location - you won't be disappointed with the treats or the service. We are so glad we stopped in, so go ahead and treat yourself!
