I got the **** and it was so good together with everything else on the plate. A few homemade onion rings were a light crispy and tasteful supplement. My husband got the pecan trout and it was just as delicious. They serve this with a homemade tarter sauce above that is quite good, but ask for it on the side if you want the full taste of an amazing fish. All for a great meal!
My partner and I enjoyed our meal. We shared the Fried Green Tomatoes as a light and tasty appetizer. We both had one of the Trout dishes (spectacular). Then share the Key Lime cake for a refreshing end of our meal. This is a GO TO place when you are in Cashiers NC.
We have made reservations that it was a weather quota. It poured and our table had a small umbrella over it and there was no way to have a glowing experience. We assume when we made the reservation that weather quota means that you might sit somewhere else in the facility. The fact of the thing is, when it rains, you can't eat there. The manager told us too bad and did not offer any kind of rain check or discount on another visit if the weather was better. Other words come from my restaurant, we have a lot of business and don't need you. If the manager had offered some kind of love, we would have been perfectly fine. We never go back. We've cut this restaurant before and the food was excellent and we knew they had a veranda we suspect they were the area they talked about and the area was good.
I wish I could give all five stars, but just not. We immediately sat for our reservation. The waiter was great, took our order and drinks and appetizers at a good pace. But we sat for an hour for our ducks. When the waiter finally came by, he had no reason why we were late. Other tables literally came in after us, ordered, ate, paid their bill and left while waiting for our meals. No visit from the manager, never given a reason. That means the food was great when it finally arrived. The restaurant is beautiful, so disappointing to have such bad service from a premium restaurant and not even a reason to be given.
PHENOMENAL! Only way to describe this meal. I was looking for something a little special for New Year?s Eve dinner for my wife and I. Choices were limited in Cashiers, but I decided to make reservations at The Orchard?. Am I ever glad I did. The ambiance was perfect (upscale but not at all pretentious), the services was great (engaging and knowledgeable without being overbearing), and the food was fantastic. We started off with the charcuterie board which turned out to be a great choice. The Cesar salad WITH anchovies was one of the best ever. My wife ordered the Silver Run Seafood and Pasta and I selected the Trout Chatuga. Both were better than we had anticipated. The orchard made our New Year?s Eve special and we will definitely be back!
