Lucy's Paradise Cafe - Catonsville

I walked in at 8 AM to find the lights on, the door unlocked, the heat blasting, and loud music blaring. There was no one around, except for a guy whose legs were sticking out from a back booth—he seemed to be either sleeping or passed out. I was really looking forward to a nice breakfast, so I left feeling very disappointed and a bit unsettled.

I’m feeling a bit unwell after my breakfast experience. Here’s the story: the website claimed the restaurant opens at 7 am every day. I arrived on a Friday at 9:30, only to find the door locked. There was someone inside who was just looking at their phone. When I knocked, they took their time walking to the door and unlocked it without saying a word. We asked about seating and were informed that the grill would take ten minutes to heat up, after which the person returned to their phone and didn’t offer us any water or drinks. We had two small children with us, but no high chair was provided, despite us noticing that there were some available.

The menu is in need of an update, and their website should reflect accurate operating hours. A couple of months ago, I went there for lunch, but I had to keep altering my order because several items on the menu weren't available. I decided to give them another chance and opted for a breakfast platter. However, they weren't open at 9 AM as stated on their website, so I had to wait until 10. The eggs and bacon were tasty, but the home fries were a disappointment. I had hoped to get scrapple, but, of course, they didn't have it despite listing it on their menu.

I don't know what happened to this place. I'm guessing it starts with horrible mismanagement. Saw all the good reviews and decided to head there with three other friends. Walked in wasn't greeted, sat at a sticky counter, and then was akwardly told that they're only offering carry out while the restaurant was set for dinning in. I went here for breakfast not too long ago and ordered the French toast with a side of turkey bacon. The quality of the food and service were both good. They didn't have much business that day so there was only one person working, but he greeted me warmly and cooked my food quickly.
