King Shabu Shabu - Cerritos

The food is fantastic! We always leave feeling completely full. My wife ordered the beef bone, and I had the tom yum. Both dishes were so delicious. However, the service can be inconsistent. They could improve their organization and attentiveness.

Dining at Yuzu is always a delightful experience. We typically opt for the Shabu with beef and vegetables. Personally, I favor the mildly spicy pork bone broth paired with the short rib meat, while my husband leans towards the lean Angus beef. He usually orders a Kirin, and I like to enjoy a Yuzu drop cocktail. Be sure to come hungry when you visit, as there's quite a bit of food!

As for the broth, my kimchi broth was a bit lacking in flavor. I asked for it to be atomic, and while it had the heat, it tasted more like hot water with a hint of kimchi. It worked well for dipping, but I prefer a broth that's just as enjoyable to sip as it is to pair with the meat. For vegetable lovers, the kimchi serves as an extra portion of cabbage. If you enjoy soup, I found that the Tom Yum and spicy miso were much better choices. One downside is that they don't allow substitutions for the vegetables. While they mentioned that this policy was due to the pandemic, I noticed a lack of accommodation even prior to that. Additionally, I didn't see any tofu on our plate, which is one of my favorites. Overall, it’s a solid place to satisfy your shabu cravings, and it's more important than ever to support small businesses during this time.

The waitress was very professional and attentive. She fully understood our requests and provided detailed explanations. She answered all of our questions and even suggested alternatives for ordering the food. Overall, we had a great experience and truly enjoyed our meal.

On the downside, like any exceptional Shabu restaurant, be prepared for a higher price point, so plan accordingly; however, it's worth every penny. Additionally, parking can get quite crowded due to the numerous nearby eateries, so it's a good idea to arrive early and be patient. I can't wait to return for another date night.
