El Paso Mexican Grill Chalmette

This restaurant serves authentic Mexican dishes that are made to order. The staff is great - when my friend's boss stopped in for lunch, he ended up losing his phone somewhere along the way. Thanks to Google's Find My Device feature, we were able to locate it at El Paso. The manager was incredibly kind when I called, and an employee had found the phone and turned it in. In addition to the delicious food and inviting atmosphere, the employees at this restaurant are honest, which is a rare quality to find in today's world.

I have visited this restaurant a few times and found the place and atmosphere to be average. The food was lukewarm and the margaritas tasted good but the presentation was lacking. Everything seemed like it could have been cooked by a young child and it was not what I expected. Overall, this is not one of my favorite places to dine.

I spent $70 on food and was only given a small container of salsa. When I requested more, I had to pay an additional $1.64. The same occurred with my drink, where I ordered a large Coke for $2.85 but received a 12 oz cup instead. This felt like a complete rip off to me. When dining at the restaurant, I usually receive unlimited chips, salsa, and drinks, but since this was a to-go order, it was not included.

Every time we stop here we are impressed by the food quality and friendly service. Monday night we were served by Angel T. He was very friendly and really knew the menu. His attitude was very upbeat and he took great care of us. The food was also greatas usual. Thank you Angel.

Punching us in the face at the door would likely have been a better experience. 4 workers standing around the bar looked at us as if we were interrupting their Saturday afternoon by us wanting to be seated. Chips were stale, asked for fresh and was toldthat those would likely be stale too. Food was mediocre at best. No redeeming qualities here. Hard pass in the future.
