Berkeley's - Charleston

The food at Berkeleys is amazing. The smoked salmon dip is definitely a must-try. We also ordered a chicken parmesan cutlet sandwich and a Caesar salad with chicken, both of which were excellent. The service was friendly, although a bit slow. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for lunch, and I would happily return.

I brought my grandmother, a lifelong New Yorker, here for her birthday lunch, and she declared it to be one of the best Reuben sandwiches she's ever eaten! Considering she's 85 and has very refined taste, that's quite a compliment. The homemade chips and salmon dip were also fantastic. The portion sizes are generous, so we ended up with plenty of leftovers, and the prices are very reasonable. Our server and the hostess were both excellent.

I visited Berkeley's on Thursday evening and I will certainly be going back soon. It was a lovely night to sit on the patio, and our server, Juanita, was fantastic! The meatballs and chicken parmesan were both delicious.

The service was outstanding from beginning to end. We kicked things off with the meatballs, which were perfectly cooked: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and accompanied by a delicious sauce. Unfortunately, the pork belly small plate was a bit under-seasoned, leaving us wanting more. The beet salad was a bit of a letdown, as it was mostly greens with just maybe one beet. However, the nuts in the salad were incredibly flavorful. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious, though it would have been even better with the option to add peppers. The chicken Parmesan sandwich, much like the pork belly, could have benefited from a bit more seasoning.

This place consistently impresses me. My ultimate favorite dish is the buffalo chicken cutlet on the wedge salad. Thank you for all the amazing food!
