Hokkaido - Charleston

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The haramuki and seafood soup were both delicious (just a heads up, the soup is enough for two!). The sushi was good, with the John’s Island roll being a standout. The restaurant is quite small and casual, lacking in fancy decor or ambiance. However, the service was excellent.

The service was quite slow and inconsistent. However, the food was excellent. I found the pictures of the restaurant to be somewhat misleading!

Expecting a habatchi grill but was more of a casual diner.

The high volume of takeout orders creates a crowded atmosphere that can almost feel disconnected from the dining experience. It would definitely be beneficial to assign a dedicated staff member to handle this service, as it detracts from the overall enjoyment of dining in.
