Jalisco Taqueria Tequila - Charleston

What a fantastic experience! I chose this restaurant to explore somewhere new when my friend, who loves Mexican food, was visiting. We went on a Monday evening, which turned out to be perfect because it was nice and quiet. We requested to sit outside—just the two of us—and they gladly accommodated our request. They offer a great happy hour for snacks like queso and dips, which I prefer over discounts on drinks. The elote dip was absolutely delicious! Just a note, chips are only served if you order dips, such as salsa, from the menu. Their jalapeño margarita might just be my new favorite in Charleston! We ordered 10 tacos, which provided a fun variety of their offerings and was a great deal at $39 since most tacos on the menu are $5 each. As a special birthday treat, we also enjoyed churros on the house. Jalisco really knows how to do it right!

Absolutely incredible authentic Mexican cuisine! Chef Mike personally came to our table and was incredibly welcoming and humble. We will definitely return to this place the next time we're in Charleston! We highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious food, fantastic cocktails, and wonderful atmosphere!

I thought I had experienced delicious enchiladas before, but Jay Heck’s incredible Jalisco enchiladas completely blew me away. The mole sauce gets a perfect 10/10, the margaritas are a solid 5 stars, and the service was outstanding!

The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presentated. The service was excellent. We loved everything about Jalisco and highly recommended it!

The guacamole was fabulous. The tacos were very good but I was disappointed the next day when they were pretty hard. But the filings were delicious. Our server was great!
