We were seated right away with high chairs for the kids. The ambiance was a nostalgic throwback, and surprisingly clean. We ordered some cocktails that were delicious. My wife and I tried the adult oysters, scalloped potatoes, hush puppies, and four pieces of dark chicken wings, while our kids shared a shrimp roll. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a beautiful crispy skin and juicy meat—definitely don't skip the spicy honey! I didn't expect to like the scalloped potatoes, but they were really tasty and the portion was satisfying. My kids loved the shrimp roll, and I'm glad we passed on the children's menu. I'm not usually a fan of hush puppies, but these were great and served with some incredibly delicious sweet butter that I couldn’t get enough of. The baked oysters were tasty as well, but my only complaint would be their size—they seemed a bit small. Overall, this place offers great value compared to others like 167 Raw (which we like, but just saying). We will definitely return next time we're in town.
One of our favorite places of our visit to Charleston. Frozen gin and tonic is great. Fried shrimps are the best we ever had. Fried chicken is amazing! Get the Scallop Potatoes and Cole Slav you won?t be disappointed. The staff is very friendly and personal.
We stopped by for a snack, ordering oysters and some fried chicken, and were surprised that our bill was as high as our full dinner meals throughout the trip. The oysters were fresh and delicious, and the fried chicken had an amazing flavor. The drinks were surprisingly small, which was a nice change. Overall, it was a positive experience in Charleston, and I'm glad we gave it a try!
My group loved this place! Everything was fresh. The oyster fishing dive started us, we also have a frozen Gin Tonikum. We had the fried chicken breastfish? for the sides we had scalop potatoes, hands down, the best we ever had. We also had the cucumber salad the pea salad, both amazing! Our service was great, Tom took care of us! Very recommended!
We also had a large oyster bar set up outside, and from what I heard, the oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious. The fried hush puppies were another treat; they were perfectly crispy and tasty. The mild weather contributed to a lovely atmosphere for our event. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend Leon's for hosting private events. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout the evening.
