Poogan's Smokehouse - Charleston

I’m a local and have attended regularly. The last time we had really poor service (we had to get plates ourselves off the shelves). Assumed a one off so returned tonight (Nov 26th), firstly, server didn’t ask if we wanted drinks, completely forgot to put the app order in and didn’t ask if we wanted dessert — just dumped the check (we did by the way but at that point we were done). The food is always great, every time. But the service has just gone so downhill. Wasn’t busy at all either. Side not … – show

Brisket was a bit tough, brisket should crumble. Ribs were not fall of the bone ribs. Flavor was good. Pulled pork and sausage was great.

Brisket chop had way too much fat. The flavor of the brisket was on point.

Mushy sandwiches, sweet potato fries with cinnamon sugar on them, funky tasting cocktails, and only canned beer. Yuck. So many better choices in CHS.

Was visiting Charleston and was looking for an early supper. Walked past poogans and read some reviews and they didn't disappoint! Brisket was amazing!!! Was to full to try the cornbread but the couple next to me really enjoyed it based on their comments.
