I had already visited other Indian restaurants. I explained that I was just looking for something to add to my vegan dish. Instead of helping, he started explaining the menu to me in a condescending manner, as if I were a child who couldn't read. I interrupted him, saying that I could read it and that I only asked about tofu. When I inquired again about vegan bread, he gave me the same dismissive look and said he didn't know. Frustrated, I got up and left. I refuse to be treated like a child; the rudeness was unacceptable! I will not be returning!
We are in Charleston on a family vacation and found that all the other restaurants listed on HappyCow were closed on Sunday night. The service here was incredibly attentive. As soon as we inquired about whether milk was in certain sauces, the host immediately recognized that we were leaning towards a vegan diet and guided us on what we could enjoy. It was reassuring to know he was knowledgeable about our dietary preferences and respected them. The food was delicious, and there were over a dozen vegan options for appetizers, entrees, and bread. Additionally, there are discount coupons available on the restaurant's website: [hidden link]. A big thumbs up from us, and we will definitely return during our stay!
The staff was very helpful in pointing out the vegan options, though unfortunately the garlic naan is not vegan.
I wish I could rate negative. Worst customer service, depending on where I come from. It seems that the owner has done customer service that knows nothing about it and only knows how to annoy people. She has to learn a few manners first. She constantly tried to take orders and remove records, gave orders to take cutlery first and when she can take the plates in a rude manner. When we tried to communicate to her, she was sarcastic and arrogant. The food was on average with a lot of food color and a lot of salt.
Best restaurant in Charleston. We're eating regularly on Uber. I can't believe that someone could rate this place less than 5 stars, but after reading the reviews, none of them commented on the quality of food. Good food is worth waiting!
