City Barbeque - Charlotte

I recently ordered ribs for delivery, but I ended up throwing them away. They were small and tough, and reheating them didn't improve the taste at all. I’m very disappointed, especially since the ribs are not inexpensive. However, I must say that the fried okra is the best you can find in town. That said, I’m not sure I’ll be ordering again! After posting this review, the customer service team reached out and made things right for me. Thank you!

I shared a sampler platter with my wife and decided to upgrade our sides to pints for just $5 more, which was definitely worth it. The baked beans and coleslaw were fantastic. However, the meat portions felt a bit small. We enjoyed the turkey, which is not commonly found in most BBQ restaurants. Overall, I would rate the food 4 out of 5.

This has happened every time I have visited this place recently. The food is awesome and plentiful and the atmosphere is great but every time I order the fries they are either cold, old, and have no taste. I ordered these when I first started going there years ago and they were great..hot , seasoned to perfection and huge..now they're just giblets..that's just my observation. Loved everything else though especially the newer items on the menu. Oh yeah and the Peach Cobbler is always great.

The best part of this trip is that all food came out hot, not luke warm like most barbecue joints. We tried the judges sampler, which includes chicken (choice of white or dark meat), ribs, brisket, pulled pork, two sides, and two pieces of cornbread. We added a basket of hush puppies and could have gone with a side as the basket is reallyfamily size..Service was friendly and restaurant clean with plenty of seating area.The only drawback is that they serve Pepsi products, but, at least, this means that Dr. Pepper is available as an alternative.

I ordered takeout and absolutely loved the brisket sandwich on Texas toast. The beans were also very flavorful. Overall, I’d rate the food a 4 out of 5.
