However, there were two instances where I was puzzled- first, there were four people hanging out in the back of the place, and it seemed like there wasn't enough space for all of them. It wasn't clear if they were hired staff or just friends. Second, the music playing was not to my liking based on previous reviews. I am not sure if it was explicitly vulgar, but I trust my ears would have picked up on it. Perhaps I was distracted by the commotion in the back of the restaurant. I appreciate supporting small businesses, especially those owned by people of color, but customer service is also very important to me. I believe in greeting customers with a smile and making them feel welcome. I rated this place a 3, as without great service, chances are I won't return. On a positive note, my aunt enjoyed the delicious cereal options, although I couldn't find any vegan options for myself.
It has been a while since this restaurant gained popularity in the black community, and it still has a unique concept. The atmosphere is great and I especially enjoyed the aesthetics and loud music, although some people may not like it. I ordered a milkshake with Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which was delicious but a bit pricey at around $9. The menu has a wide variety of options, so I will definitely be returning to try something new, possibly with a sauce drizzle and a bowl next time. Overall, it was a positive experience and I recommend checking it out.
When we visited the restaurant, they only had shakes available. They were offering a 50% discount on their shakes and smoothies, but we were disappointed that they didn't have any other menu items. The owner wasn't present when we arrived, and when he did show up, he played explicit rap music with offensive language, despite there being children present. The music was changed to include more offensive lyrics that targeted black people and women. It seems that the only reason they were only offering shakes was because their other dishes were delayed or unavailable. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the entire experience. After waiting for our order to be fixed, the owner seemed more interested in his phone than providing good service. We had high hopes for this restaurant, but ultimately it was a letdown. I would not recommend wasting your time or money here. Skip this place.
I write my review because I missed a lot. it might be a good idea to occupy employees higher when it is city wide events and perhaps a better ticketing system than post it noticing. we had to wait, but we understand that it comes to mix-ups. my son and I love the milkshake and plan to come back. it was to do when we came in so that we missed seeing the bigger menus and had to grab the laminated from the commission, but we were satisfied with the options, although something else has gluten-free would be nice for those who are not good verses on which chalk are safe and not. overall it was a good experience.
This is such a fun hole-in-the-wall sort of place! We stopped in after a concert downtown, and were so surprised to see this concept for dessert. We loved their Cosmo Wanda shake! (Fruit Loops and Captain Crunch berries They were friendly and fast! Perfect pit-stop for the night!
