Lawrence Caribbean - Charlotte

This restaurant has received high ratings, and after visiting, I can understand why. The food is fantastic! The atmosphere truly captures the essence of Jamaica, and I can attest to that since I just returned from a trip there. The portion sizes are generous, and they even serve authentic Jamaican drinks, which I highly recommend trying.

I ordered the small oxtail, and I liked the portion size; it was just right. The food was enjoyable. However, the service left much to be desired. Even though we were there to place our order in person, my friends had to do all the talking for us. There was no greeting or warm welcome when we arrived.

My rice was undercooked and clumpy. The mac and cheese was dry and lacked flavor. The only redeeming dish was the curry chicken, which was actually good. I'm really disappointed and won't be returning. 1 star, and this will be my last visit.

1. Here. I'm from Brooklyn, NY and I definitely know how authentic Caribbean food tastes. That's real. I ordered a big ox meal and a red peas soup. Everything was delicious. I'll be back!

Such authentically good food! And the amount of food you get for the price is amazing. Very friendly staff too.
