This is definitely one of my favorite places to visit. I really enjoy the cozy, small-town atmosphere, and the service is exceptional. As for the food, it's absolutely delicious, featuring wonderful Southern-style dishes and a wide variety of vegetable options. I can't recommend this place highly enough—you really need to go and see for yourself!
A hidden gem for home-cooked meals in East Town Market on W.T. Harris Blvd. On Monday, I enjoyed pot roast accompanied by cinnamon-baked apples and black-eyed peas. Yesterday, I had beef tips served over rice, along with green beans and macaroni and cheese. Everything was fantastic, and the yeast rolls were also delicious. This place is truly wonderful!
Takeout typically offers good turkey and dressing, but unfortunately, it was terrible on Sunday, 8/20/23. It was extremely salty and tasted different than on previous visits. The greens were also overly salty. The rest of the food was okay, but I wish they would let customers season their own meals, as some might prefer no salt at all. Overall, I would rate the food a 2 out of 5.
There's a woman who works the register in the morning who consistently overcharges me for my livermush with the special, while everyone else pays the regular price. Her attitude is also quite unpleasant. Food quality is good, though: 4/5.
