Contribuisci feedbackI am a huge fan of pizza. Originally from New Jersey and with experience working in numerous pizzerias in the past, I can confidently say that the Mediterranean pizza at this restaurant is the best I have ever had. The crust was incredibly thin and it was absolutely delicious!
Review before edit: My partner and I eat at Pure regularly and without fail, each time we spend the rest of the day raving about how d*mn good thisplace is! It?s my favorite oven-baked pizza in the city, by far. The ingredients are always fresh and flavorful and even thecrust is delicious?and that?s coming from someone who never eats the ?pizza bones.? The crust is so good that they give youinfused honeys to dip crust in, which is basically free dessert; I highly suggest the bourbon chipotle honeys double-dipped.Besides the food, the staff here is always so sweet and friendly, this is truly a neighborhood gem.
This review is not intended to criticize the restaurant or deter anyone from visiting. They serve excellent pizza. This is my third visit and I was a bit disappointed because I requested a vegan version of their mushroom pizza (simply swapping out the cheese, something I have done before). This time, it was interpreted as not wanting sauce. Who goes to a pizza place and doesn't want sauce? I am only sharing this feedback so they can improve. The photo shows the sauce I added at home.
They 've cut down table service, so you order up front at the door, then find a table where they 'll bring out your food when it 's ready. There 's lots of seating, but we chose to dine on the big patio outside that looks like it would be a nice place to hangout in the evening, with lights strung around. We tried a couple of the $12 each 10 inch craft pizzas . The Deconstructedpulled pork was interesting, with the pork buried under melted cheese, and the whole thing topped with red cabbage slaw. Thesalty ham on the Pure Country overpowered the garlic and basil. But, the crusts were deliciously light and crispy, with chewyair pockets from the hot oven. There are also sandwiches and calzones on the menu, and drinks were limited to overpriced cannedsodas and bottled water in the fridge.
I had heard about Pure and wanted to visit but never had a reason to drive from the other side of town until I saw a Groupon for Sunday brunch so thought we would give it a try. We were greeted by a surly woman who asked how many in our party. I advised 2 and said we had an OpenTable reservation so that she could mark us checked in. She replied with a derisive shrug, as if to say, Why are you telling me? Gee, sorry, just trying to do the correct thing. She then, rather than taking us to a reserved table, said to sit anywhere. Ok fine. Unfortunately, there was nowhere to sit where we could escape the annoyingly loud music. Who wants to be assaulted with pop music for a casual brunch? I don 't even understand the need for a DJ; it was just a string of songs that could have been replicated by Pandora or Spotify. The Groupon was for 2 entrees, and we picked what we wanted. One of our choices was an omelette even though it was the cheapest entree and wouldn 't maximize the Groupon, that was our choice. Then we waited about 5 minutes for any server at all. I assumed we had been forgotten because we got no service at all. Finally a server arrives and I stated we had the Groupon. She pointed out what we could get; the problem is that she didn 't mention omelettes. We mentioned we had planned on that, at which she said, no, the Groupon won 't cover that (even though it was the least expensive option! . Disappointed, we ordered something else. The food arrived and was just ok. At the end of the meal, I looked for the restroom. Saw a women 's room but none for men so asked a server, who pointed to one that was gender neutral. It was 2 stalls without even a full separation between the them! There was a sign up saying it was to make patrons more comfortable, like single mothers. What?? So if I 'm in there the same time as a single mother, that 's MORE comfortable? Sounds like a policy driven more by chip-on-shoulder politics than simple logic and common sense. I won 't be back.
