Steak 'n Shake - Charlotte

I decided to dine at Steak and Shake after seeing the advertisement on the building for Free Kids meals all weekend. With my two children aged 5 and under in tow, I thought it would be a good opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner at an affordable price. However, upon being seated and inquiring about the kids meal promotion, I was shocked to learn that I would have to spend $9 per adult in order to receive just one free kids meal. With two kids, this meant I would have to spend $18, which I found to be absurd. Even the more expensive items on the menu, such as the double stack with 2 sides and a milkshake, only cost $7.99. Some of the more affordable options were priced at $3.99. I felt deceived and disappointed that the restaurant was essentially tricking families into dining there with false advertising. I will not be returning to Steak and Shake and will instead support a restaurant that does not use such misleading promotions that offer no real value to families.

I had an amazing experience at this Steak 'n Shake. The restaurant has been completely renovated and Jay, the owner, is exceptional at what he does. The location was very clean, the service was quick, and the food was delicious. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The prices are very reasonable considering the high quality and consistency of the food.

I see some negative reviews, but I love this place. They have gone to a kiosk for ordering, which works quite well. You order, seat yourself, then wait for your name to be called. The food was hot, fresh and timely. The shake was smooth and creamy. Just top notch in all areas. Looking forward to my next visit....

I loved this place before the renovation, but unfortunately I can say that my opinion has changed since. they refurbished to become more modern, now order a screen only (they don't talk to someone to order) what is good with me. They don't bring this to theirs anymore, but simply call out their names and let them eat on a counter. I got a shake that was amazing before the taste except this time, it tasted just like milk and I could not taste any of the ingredients I had requested.
