And if ingredients, sourcing, or supporting locally owned small businesses, is a priority in your life, again, there is no reason you shouldn’t be here eating this absolutely scrumptious food. The owners are brothers, and they literally source the flour from the flour mill down the street and make everything with their own two hands. And the love they have poured into their passion for food shines through in every bite. One brother is in love with bread, the other is in love with making great meals to share with his patrons, neighbors and friends. And every day they are open for business, they both get to work together, making their dreams come true. Again, the love shines through so beautifully. Just give a donut a try, and you’ll stay for breakfast or lunch, or wish you could, I guarantee it.
We had a fairly large party (work team breakfast) and most of us arrived before 9am, their opening time. The line was pretty long and I was surprised at how quickly it moved along. Our food came out in a reasonable time as well given the circumstances. I had an English Muffin with egg and cheese. It was very good! Would absolutely order it again. I also bought a round loaf of the sourdough bread and was finally able it break into it a day later. It was wonderful and, like the sandwich, I would absolutely order it again! I ordered 1 of every doughnut they had. They are not really for me and that's just my personal taste. They were very good though so if someone asked, I would say they'd need to at least give them a try for themselves and decide. Overall an excellent experience. I will be back and I would highly recommend!!!
Inching towards unaffordable at over $50 (with recommended tip for this basic brunch for two, and sliding well beyond value for money when the once glorious Belle Croque Monsieur disappoints. Donuts remain an affordable, value for money take away delight. (Plus room for improvement with the filter coffee which I no longer order. Hope this review is helpful to all parties as this as this is a lovely spot in Belmont and the team at Belle have slogged it to provide us a touch of civilized sophistication during these mad times.
Some of the best breakfast/brunch sandwiches in Charlottesville. Bread is perfectly crusted and freshly baked. That said — the only downside is that their coffee is horrendous. Very, very bad coffee.
I recently visited this restaurant for breakfast and was extremely impressed. Their baked goods were delightful, but the standout for me was the cardamom donut. The restaurant has plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors, and the menu offers a delicious selection of sandwiches. Overall, a great experience!
