The eggs and fish cakes were cooked perfectly, and the service on Spring Garden Rd was exceptional. However, my experience at the Smitty's in Charlottetown was disappointing. The reception staff seemed unwelcoming and confused, and the kitchen produced bland, overcooked food. Despite the friendly server, the overall experience was lacking. I would suggest visiting other restaurants in Charlottetown for a high-quality breakfast at a similar price point. The quality of food and customer service at this Smitty's location was not up to par.
The staff is polite and attentive, always making sure your coffee cup stays full. The breakfast options are great overall. I didn't care for the pan fried potatoes, but the deep fried ones were delicious. The portion sizes are generous. Make sure to ask for a frequent purchase card at checkout - your 8th breakfast is free with it. For the best deals, be sure to visit before 11AM when breakfast specials are more affordable.
This restaurant belongs to the family who are not like colored people. We ordered family dinners. The two white families asked for us and served before us. They did not welcome us as anyone else. We didn't have the same treatment in the maid Marian Diner. I just don't understand why the treatment is different. I hate racism.
We ordered simple 2 eggs, toast, bacon breakfast. Good tasting and great value included at $6.99 coffee, although no other drink was offered.
As a tour group, we had to choose our meal from a limited menu. I was determined to find a good fish dinner while touring the Maritime Provinces, and this proved to be it. I selected the Wild Salmon Filet. Good choice. Service was friendly...and the dining felt comfortable.
