The Little Kitchen - Charlottetown

I gotta say, this was the best choice for lunch today for me and the rest of my family, as we got off a flight and weren't that hungry when we first made it to Charlottetown. The place we were staying at just so happened to be this little restaurant's owner's B

Small Asian restaurant, charming and very clean. owners warmly welcome us. Chinese cuisine is authentic and delicious. and prices are very reasonable.

I loved this small and welcoming restaurant. I had pork belly with cabbage and rice. It was like eating at my Chinese friend's home - fresh, clean and deiciously prepared home cooked food. The women eating next to me also seemed to love their food. Very impressed with the warm welcome, polite service and cleanliness. No fake Chinese food aka deep fried dough with sugar sauce - ths was authentic and perfect!

I've heard many favourable comments about The Little Kitchen through media and by word of mouth. The husband and wife owners Danny and Zsu open the doors to their small eatery on weekdays at lunchtime, extending their hours until 4 on Saturdays. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is immediately apparent from the chalkboard menu listing the available freshly-made authentic Chinese fare (not North American style) to the classy furnishings bought locally from The Dunes. Danny was a relaxed and personable host as I waited for my spring rolls and dumplings. The food was fresh, hot and incomparable to any Chinese food I have had on PEI. I especially enjoyed the dumplings which were comparable, if not better than those I had on my visits to Shanghai. Thumbs up and 5 stars. I will definitely be a repeat customer! I hear their noodles are awesome.

We had lunch at the little kitchen and we were not disappointed! The food was incredible and quite obviously homemade. The beef broth was the best I have ever had at any restaurant on or outside of PEI. The owner was so nice and recommended a great traditional egg white custard for dessert as well. We will definitely be going back. can't wait to try more dishes!
