Herradura Vieja - Chelmsford

I’ve been here twice the first time was a good experience, second time around I wasn’t too happy. I took my nephew to eat here today, so it was just him and myself and when the check came they added a automatic 20 percent tip to my total. I had to bring it up to the manager and he fixed the problem but that doesn’t make it right that they can do that. If it was a party of 5 or more I would understand. After that I shouldn’t have left a tip but I still did.

If you have a party of 5 you end up on the end of a 4 person booth with a chair. This kind of makes it uncomfortable. The drinks were delicious and our server was very nice. It's worth going to check it outFood: 4/5

I went with my daughter and grandson for dinner. My grandson had nachos which he said were very good. My daughter ordered a burrito, but got an enchilada which she said was ok. I ordered a quesadilla with grilled chicken, but said I did not want the rice that came with it. The description was a "flour tortilla filled with cheese stuffed with your choice of protein, served with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole sour cream. I assumed mine would be the same minus the rice. "When it arrived there was no lettuce, tomato, or guacamole. When I asked I was told that I had ordered an appetizer quesadilla. There was plenty of chicken, but without the rest it was disappointing. I also ordered an alcohol free pina colada which turned out to be $9.00, too pricey. So. i may go there again, not in a hurry, but stick with water and be very clear about my order.

I had been here for lunch with a girlfriend before and it was pretty good.So I came back with my boyfriend tonight for dinner and it was a completely different experience. Food was not good, made us both feel heavy and bordering on sick almost immediately. Everything was either bland, greasy or has too much cheap sauce. There was no in between.The most obnoxious part unfortunately was the waitstaff. They were too attentive literally checking on us every couple of minutes not allowing us any time to enjoy our experience. Then they would stare from a distance. It was incredibly uncomfortable and both of us couldn’t wait to get out of there.The previous experience was good but this one was so bad I’m not sure I can return.Management certainly needs to talk to the staff about timing of visits. We truly weren’t given peace for more than 5 minutes without multiple staff asking how food was, if we needed anything, reaching over us to clean things, etc. At one point the waitress went to grab something under our hands as we exchanged a nice moment between the two of us. It was just bizarre. Not welcoming at all. Felt rushed, judged and uncomfortable.

I have been here four times and the food has absolutely no traditional Mexican flavors, seasoning or spices. It is all bland. The shrimp cocktail was just tomato juice and shrimp. I've learned my lesson and won't be going back.Food: 1/5
