They're trying to be a better restaurant than the competition but the quality just isn't good enough to hit that level that's worth the expense. The sashimi is cut too thick and the sushi rice is cooked perfectly but it has no flavor. Also my friend had miso soup and she said it was bland and there were no mushrooms. My yakisoba was a bit bland too and I was disappointed that the shrimp were the very small kind. Also personal note I wish there were special maki that had eel as an option and I wish there were more special maki with tobiko on top. Also on the night we were there the restaurant was way too quiet with no music playing. It was a little off putting. Wheelchair accessibility: I wouldn't forsee a problem. There seemed to be plenty of room to move around. I didn't see the bathroom however.
My only critique is that the Inari sushi (tofu pockets) wasn’t filled with as much rice as I’m accustomed to; there was just a bit of rice and the bottoms of the tofu pockets were folded in. I believe they would be much better if they were prepared with the traditional sushi rice filling. Nonetheless, it’s the only local restaurant I’ve found that offers Inari on the menu, so I’m happy about that! The vegetarian options were abundant, which was refreshing to see, and the rolls and appetizers we chose were really well-executed and flavorful. I would gladly return to this place or order take-out! The atmosphere was still fresh and clean, not overwhelming in noise. The staff was attentive and friendly; our drinks and food arrived promptly, dishes were cleared efficiently, and they even helped us box everything up at the end. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for any occasion!
The prices are a bit high for the area, but the food and service were excellent.
This is my favorite sushi restaurant! They have an excellent cocktail menu, along with a fantastic selection of Japanese whiskey.
The owners have changed in the last month, but the menu and prices have not changed. The previous owners are wonderful people, but the new owners have only added to the menu. To say anything “has changed” is premature and shows people are not willing to give the new owners a chance.
