We both stood at the bar, barman was busy pulling five pints of Guinness. No 'evening gents, be with you in a minute ' no eye contact even. When it was our turn to be served he just looked at me with a vacant expression followed by abrupt 'What do you want? '. Was it that we weren 't regulars? On finishing, I put the empty glasses on the bar and said cheers...nothing in return.
Would have been a 0 if i had the chance! Came here for a christmas dinner.Awful service. We were seated at 1:20 and didn’t get our starters until 2:30. We then waited an extra half an hour for our mains. We left before our desserts had arrived because who wants to be waiting 2hr 30 mins for their food. When our mains had arrived, the roast potatoes were rock hard and the vegan main didn’t arrive so had been given sausages instead. My only day off work and i’m spending christmas day waiting hours for the worst roast i’ve ever had? Everyone else was complaining as even tables of 2 had to wait hours to be served. A young couple even walked in for a drink and got denied service as they said you have to eat to be served any drink. But 5 men sat at the bar not eating? When we were leaving we also heard other people saying it was awful and they would never return. Just the worst and definitely not £80 each worth! Will be expecting refund
I treated myself to lunch on Remembrance Sunday and was very pleased with my choice of The Beehive. The atmosphere was welcoming, the background music wasn't too intrusive, the snug area where I was seated was good, the service was prompt and attentive, and finally the Sunday roast was delicious and plentiful. A 3 course lunch and a pint of beer for just over £37 was excellent value. Highly recommended.
Delicious food, friendly service. We called prior to walking down on a Saturday evening, no problem at all and happy for the dogs to join us. Lovely dining space upstairs. Good wine list, although we chose beer instead, which was well kept. Extra points for superb calamari and that wonderful lemon and lime tart! Thank you for a lovely evening
Busy local pub you’ll need to book it’s very popular because it’s a lovely pub selling great food. Our Sunday lunch was mushroom pie, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and 4 different veg. All cooked beautifully, served hot and timely. Would throughly recommend.
