Hometown Gyros - Chicago Heights

Typical fast food restaurant, but the portion sizes were generous. Fast, efficient and friendly. I ordered the Gyro and Philly cheese steak it was good, but not a fan of Mozzarella on a Philly. I will return. The Italian beef is good and for the price it is huge.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. I ordered the gyros plate, and it was so plentiful that I couldn't finish it. Unlike some other reviews, I can't fault the service. The staff was busy, but I didn't expect any special treatment; they took my order quickly and accurately, which is what matters most. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is that when I first pulled up, it looked like the restaurant was closed. They really should put up a sign advertising specials by the curb or something else to draw in customers. The single eye-catching sign and one in the window, along with just two cars in the parking lot, almost made me head to Taco Bell instead, thinking the place was out of business. If you enjoy gyros, I highly recommend this spot!
