Rice was pretty undercooked (I could feel the uncooked grain texture in the couple bites I ate). Ended up just eating the veggies and guacamole. Disappointing to say the least- will pay attention to reviews before patronizing specific locations in the future. Service was ok.
The customer service here sucks. Why have a phone if you're not going to use it? Imagine fasting for 12 hours and wanting to break with a double meat burrito but getting a burrito with no meat cheese that you cannot eat. Then when you try to call the store to figure something out, the phone just rings forever and eventually hangs up? Not only am I out of a meal but I'm furious and plan on never returning here again. Please do better when it comes to customer service!
Efficient customer service, huge portions, dependable deliciousness. So fresh and yummy.
Due to the pandemic, I haven't spent any time inside the store in a while. Delivery has been the way to go, which happens to be convenient and arguably safer. I also don't want to put on any pants right now. However, there are drawbacks to this which I'll detail. Delivery is contracted through DoorDash, which is usually hit or miss when it comes to delivery time. At its worst, an hour for a modest Chipotle order when you're about a mile away? At its best, 30 minutes give or take. Okay, understandable given the surge of delivery orders since the pandemic. I get it. 90% of the time, I order 3 steak tacos on a soft flour tortilla, with white rice, fresh tomato salsa, tomatillo red chili salsa, cheese, and romaine lettuce. Simple enough right? And if I feel extra fancy, I'll add a side of queso blanco dip with some chips. $15 bucks right there, fills me up perfectly when I'm hungry in a pinch. But consistency is key, you know? This is where this particular Chipotle falls short. There's a level of anxiety when making a delivery order as you can't see the production line like you would if you were inside. The worst instance of an order happened just today. Meat was burnt crispy... and wait, this isn't steak. What is this? Barbacoa? Chicken? Both? Preparation was abysmal at best; excessive rice, three tacos mushed together (not from delivery handling mind you) that has transformed my meal into an open faced quesadilla. I can't distinguish the three tacos I ordered. I forked my way through it. I guess I should've ordered a burrito bowl then? If you're in the Rogers Park neighborhood, here's a solid tip or two for you. One, consider going inside and watch them make your order. Get your mask game on, enjoy what I've considered their hospitality at least, to be acceptable for such an arduous job. Two, consider the many other Mexican establishments around the area that will give you far more authenticity, quality, and consistency in their offerings (ahem, El Pulpo comes to mind). Extra tip if your online order goes horribly wrong, don't be afraid to utilize their app and rate your order accordingly. Specifically, request that they contact you and make mention of requesting some form of compensation without being a jerk. In return, you may receive some reward points to exchange for a free meal.
