Fiya - Chicago

I went a little overboard on my first visit because everything on the menu sounded so good. Not one dish disappointed. Both me and my friend are vegetarians and we both left so full and so happy. The halloumi is haunting my dreams, though, so I need to go back soon.

Terrible management...something crazy every time. OK,,,food costs are up so we're all accustom increased prices but 1/2 size portions too? WORST we were celebrating a birthday and advised of a cake cutting charge, but $5.00 a person (11 people dining, $55.00 to cut the cake) totally outta line...Good Luck, you won't see us again.

Really good food. Service was on point. I feel like Mediterranean food is probably your kind of place.The food is a bit pricey.

Fiya is a really nice looking restaurant with a very quaint and cute patio. The food here is quite good; flavors on everything were top notch, but service was abysmally slow.The menu states that the hummus and salatim arrive at your table first, then your other items as ready. We got our hummus and roasted chicken first, and the salatim somewhere in the middle of the meal. The food itself was quite delicious, and the time between ordering the food and getting it was pretty quick.After we were done, we waited quite a bit for our server to come back. We didn't leave until they were taking down the umbrellas outside; it was about a 3.5 hour affair with drinks, dinner, and dessert.Overall, the food and drinks were really good, but the service just needs to pick up the pace.

My personal favorite is the shakshuka—eggs cooked with tomatoes and flavorful Middle Eastern spices. It caters to both traditional diners and those seeking a modern take on classic dishes. Just ask, and you won’t be disappointed!
