The menu is seasonal (some dishes remain always) and we pretty much worked our way through the entire Spring 2022 menu. The Bun Cha broth is incredible and they work magic with those blackpeppercorns in the meatballs, giving them a nice crunch without being overwhelming. The marinated ribeye and eggplant disheswere both impressively tender and very enjoyable. Generally, the flavor combos were next level on almost every dish and theirsauces shined. Whatever that susce with the eggplant dish was, I'd freaking drink it! The yellow curry and 16 oz. ribeye wereboth memorable dishes I could just keep on eating. If I had to nitpick anything, the grilled octopus and morning glory (greens)were just okay, with subtle flavors that were overshadowed by everything else. To end things off, the sesame in that ricepudding is a game changer! It's such a light dish, even if you're full, you can have a bowl of dessert. HaiSous has top-notchservice and food!
I lived in Pilsen many years ago and am very happy to see a place like HaiSous is thriving there. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing. Every course was delicious and we loved the stories behind the food told by the chef and the servers. Thewine was delicious and matched the food perfectly. In all it was a great meal, delicious wine and wonderful service.
Overall a good dining experience. Very friendly service, very modern and clean design with ample space. We opted to just order different dishes vs the tasting menu. Overall the food was good. Nice taste and nothing was bad?but nothing was amazing.Signature chicken wings were a bit dry, the curry was a little bland, etc. it?s a great place to bring a date, entertain out oftown guests or bring people you want to impress. But if I want more ?authentic? Vietnamese food I would go to Argyle?which stillhas its shortcoming vs eating in Vietnam but it?s much closer.
What an amazing experience at HaiSous! We enjoyed the tasting menu which takes you on an adventure exploring Vietnamese cuisine that is so new, exciting, and thoughtful! The service is top notch, and the time the staff and Chef take to really tell thestory behind the dishes makes you feel like you are right there in Vietnam while enjoying your meal. There is so much passionand soul behind every dish, really creating such a wonderful dining experience. As a dessert person, you can't forget dessert toreally complete the whole experience! The whipped banana cream with toasted banana cracker was so good! Amazing job and mycompliments to Chef Thai, Danielle, and the entire HaiSous team!
I mean...I guess I could see why people Ike it, but it's not as good as they say. My group all shared the grand tasting menu. it was neither Vietnamese nor Japanese... just some elements from either. Only 2 of of the 7 dishes I liked. For a total of $250for 3 people, that's pretty disappointing. The matcha mousse is good though!
