Kroll's South Loop - Chicago

I visited the restaurant on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious and the atmosphere had a classy sports bar feel. However, the drink service was slow. Despite few customers at the bar, it took a while for the bartender to come back for another order. I would have liked to order two more $19 cocktails if the service had been faster. On the bright side, the bartender was friendly and polite when they did attend to us.

It is possible that I just got lucky with a good batch, but the wings at this restaurant were excellent. They were perfectly crispy with a tasty sauce, everything you would want in a wing. The beer selection is also great, and the daily specials are worth trying. However, on my last two visits, the wings and pizza were not as impressive. The wings were not as crispy and the sauce was too hot, making me wonder if they accidentally used extra spicy instead of medium. The atmosphere is still good, but not as amazing as I had initially thought.

If you were in town and had to pick a place to have a pleasant lunch/dinner experience, I would not recommend this bar/restaurant. The bartender was annoyed to serve us. Ran away quickly before acknowledging our requests. She also forgotdrinks and the food order was incorrect. The food was decent but surely not worth the poor service.

I called Kroll's to watch the Missouri vs. South Carolina collegiate football game on 10/29 because the bar I was at did not have it. James answered the phone and said he would try to show the game. As a Missouri alum living in Houston, I was in Chicago for business and had no idea about local sports bars. James mentioned that the bar's cable package did not include the game, but he had a solution. He found the game and invited me to watch it at the bar. When I got there, James had the game on one of their two large screens and had the play-by-play commentary on. He explained that he accessed the owner's streaming account to provide the game for me. He was very professional and provided excellent customer service. The food was just as good as the hospitality! They had a great selection of beer and spirits, and the staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating, especially the young lady wearing a Bears t-shirt. This place is definitely a must-visit when in Chicago.

My husband and I came here after the pre season game Bears vs Chiefs. Our waitress was incredible, the manager came out to introduce himself, the seating was perfect. Now, the food was delicious and so were our drinks! (I had the hand batter chickenstrips and fries- not pictured) We added Kroll?s to our favorites list.
