The hummus was terrible—honestly, it was that bad. I couldn't even finish it, and I usually never waste food. The falafel was somewhat better than the hummus, but that’s not saying much. If you’re in the neighborhood and looking for good Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend you go a few blocks south to Taza on Franklin Street. I definitely won't be making the mistake of coming to Mezza again.
For the price, you certainly get a generous amount of food, but I did encounter a few issues. Firstly, I was surprised that they ran out of hummus by 1 PM, especially since lunchtime can be quite busy. Additionally, the pita was very difficult to eat, so I had to resort to using a fork and knife. While that helped a bit, I expect to be able to hold my pita easily. Lastly, the feta or sauce was overly salty, which made the dish hard to enjoy. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but there are definitely some areas for improvement.
Food is delicious and well priced. But they’re ALWAYS closed over an hour early. How am I supposed to support and give business to a place that stays open 3 hours a day???
Solid place for lunch during the week if you work near the Merch Mart! Their portions are on the large side and they're packed with flavor. Wish there was a little more spice in some of the sauce options. It also gets pretty busy during lunch hours, so I'd recommend ordering ahead!
