Sky Terrace Rooftop Lounge - Chicago

We arrived after driving all the way from Michigan for our rooftop reservation, only to find out that the rooftop has closed for the season. Really? They even sent a confirmation email. I understand it has gotten cold, but why would they accept reservations under those circumstances? This is so unprofessional!

We ordered a Cocoa Old Fashioned, which was delicious but priced at $18, and a Lemon Drop Martini that resembled a creamy apple cider instead. We then ordered a Cheese and Fruit Board, BBQ Chicken Flatbread, and Italian Sausage Flatbread, as well as the same drinks again. It seemed that their martinis were just different variations of the same mix. The location offered a lovely breeze and beautiful ambiance, perfect for conversation. After an hour, we realized our appetizer had not yet arrived. I approached the suited gentleman to mention this, and he apologized and comped the appetizer. The bartender later returned to apologize for the delay, explaining that the kitchen had run out of sauce for the flatbreads. He then asked if we wanted to order anything else, but we decided to skip additional food aside from the cheese board. My girlfriend ordered a different drink, and as I was getting ready to order mine, he walked away to chat with another table and returned to the bar. When the Cheese Board finally arrived, it contained 22 pieces of cheese and 6 Ritz crackers, though it had been advertised with a French baguette. I chose not to place an order, especially as my girlfriend’s drink had just come. While most of our bill was comped, which was a nice gesture, it did little to compensate for the disappointing experience we hoped for on our special night.

Communication about the offerings, including the venue and services, was lacking. When we arrived on a rainy day, there was no one there to greet us. Cushions were stacked by the elevators, reaching the ceiling. There was also no signage to guide guests, so we had to call each time to get information from the staff.

Great Location And Vibe But Service Was Bad Because Of That I Will Not Be Returning Or Recommending

Cute and intimate rooftop. I really appreciated the fact that they were open and the staff was very friendly. Jamir made my stay very pleasant. I will definitely return in the future.
