Tanuki is a great, romantic place for a date or a few friends to enjoy at a weekend!

I had my birthday dinner here with my man and the staff was super nice and said many times birthday! our sushi was fantastic, but our only bottom is how close all the tables are.

This delightful intimate Japanese restaurant is a gem in the Sheffield neighborhood, and the food is fabulous. Everything we ordered… skewers, sushi rolls and potstickers… we fresh and perfect. Our wait staff, though busy, were always gracious and attentive. Make reservations in advance, because this small place is popular and fills up even on week days. We look forward to seeing you again, Tanuki!!

After being seated, we waited over 15 minutes with no acknowledgement from staff finally flagged down the host who said he’d be with us in a few minutes Finally got waters and drinks and the host rushed to take our full order food came our somewhat quickly and was very good and fresh service was lacking the entire time.

Tanuki is amazing. We love it and it is our go-to sushi restaurant
