Garrison Bistro - Chilliwack

Really terrible experience! we waited 5 full minutes at the door the restaurant was not so busy before someone even recognized us, and even then it was only the bartender literally cried over the room “How many?” then he disappeared and we waited...8 10 minutes to sit. the whole time we were standing at the entrance, there was not a person approaching the hollering bartender. but even the bartender did not take us place, he actually asked another customer who went into the washroom to tell us that we go outside the terrace! we drove out and were set up directly through the terrace and from the back to the street behind the restaurant where they have a table and 5 chairs near the parking lot. it was brutal! I protested that it wasn’t even in the restaurant, but the bartender reassured me again and again, it was while he called me “Buddy” several times. the waitress was also terrible. she left us in the first 5 minutes without menus alone, no water, nothing. She finally came with water, but no introduction and no menus, and asked us if we knew what we wanted to order?! we ordered, and when the food arrived, we had to wait for cutlery while it got cold. I had the 18 chicken caesar, which consisted of eisberg salat with a few croutons and some chicken strips. the dressing looked and tasted like a bottle without name dollar shop salat dressing that was on sale. it was like watered garlic sauce, but it wasn't caesar dressing. I sent it back. I eat in many nice restaurants, but I can easily say that I have never had such a terrible experience from beginning to end as I did at garrison bistro. I have eaten several times here, but I will not go back. it was terrible. halfway through the meal a new waitress arrived, which was much better, but it was too late to save this terrible experience.

That was a favorite of us earlier. with dunes in not in restaurants now we decided to go to garrison’s bistro. they have a very nice terrace and the seating is well spaced, so there are no concerns with Kovid protocols... to be adhered to. the evening was very disappointing. the waitress informed us that they had only been reopened in the fairytale, but I have seen before during the pandemic reviews. it was told that it was a new menu, a new cook and all new employees. I wonder if this restaurant had a change of ownership. it is certainly not the restaurant we were so enthusiastic about. the menu is very small with only a few entrees. we shared a series of seasonal whispers with a Thai chili sauce and they were probably the worst mush I ever had. the muddles themselves were small and torn. it was about the size of escargot. the sauce was extremely heavy on the salt, we should probably have sent it back to the kitchen. I ordered the streaking steak and it was hard. none of the entrees appealed to my man, so he decided to take 2 extra appetizers. he ordered the flatbread and a row of chicken wings. he said the flatbread was acceptable, but the wings were moderate. I notice, while we had our dinner, that a table of us has returned their meal of lamb and has said that it is unacceptable. my man went to our dinner last night, he won't return. it's really a shame. the service was decent, not great.

My wife and I and a close friend of us enjoyed a very good meal in garrison bistro. pork schnitzel, angus sirloin and chicken picatta were our choices for our net. everything was delicious. a beautiful bottle riverlore sauv blanc accompanied our meals.

Very Poor. The taco salad was to be a dinner. Their menu specifies a taco salad dinner as: Greens, Bell Peppers, Onion, Cheddar, Taco Beef Crispy Tortilla Strips and Cilantro Well it was never heated. No Bell peppers, no onion, no tortilla strips or cilantro....I got greens and dried beef in a seperate container. No dressing. All this for 16. I am not impressed with them at all. When I phoned to complain they mentioned they would give me a free appy card. Wow.

Four of us had a good evening. Dinner prices between 28 and 38. The lamb, Veal, Prawn Curry and Ribs were all excellent A good selection of appies. A limited selection of entres. Good service, nice atmosphere Fantastic Cheese Czke
