When I left I was full and I had been quite satisfied with the selection. There was a mix of Canadian and Chinese food. Personally I don't bother with things like fried chicken or french fries. If I wanted those I'd go to KFC and I go for the actual Chinese dishes. Those Chinese dishes were delicious, I particularly enjoyed the curry chicken, but there were also some spicy mussels and a beef with broccoli that were good as well. And the value was great, 15.95 and that included a bottomless Coca-Cola beverage. Definitely a place I will go to again.
Took my 4 year old grand daughter out with me, for the buffet. ..cost was around $9.00 with tax...I was shocked! Most other buffets charge $4.00+ tax for a 4 year old....she didn't even eat much! The adult prices have risen to $14.95+ tax now..same old average food! I think were done here now! Better deal at Gingko's!! on Young St.
The food is always replaced in a timely manner, the Won Ton Soup is excellent, two kinds o chow mein, 2 sweet & sour pork, on is garlic pork, excellent, fried chicken, the egg fui yung, veggies, mushrooms, shrimp, fried rice, salad with lots of fixings, fruitand fruit cocktail, and 8 varieties of ice cream..great place, lots of cake & slices for the sweet tooth..
Mandarin Garden Buffet is not the best Chinese restaurant in Chilliwack as they proclaim. If they were, I would hate to try out the others! Although they have a wide selection of food items (with about 5 non-Chinese items), they didn’t have some popular items like chicken balls or eggrolls. There was deep fried pork, honey garlic pork, sweet & sour pork, all of which consisted of a crunchy batter (I don’t think there was any pork it there), the last two sitting in a sugary syrup. I can describe most of what I ate as mushy. In both the broccoli & beef dish and the vegetable dish, the broccoli stalk was crunchy, but the florets were sitting in so much broth that they were pure mush. The fried rice was more like mushy steamed rice – none of that fried rice flavour. The spring rolls – again, mush. I also tried the chow mien and bean sprouts, the wonton soup was too cloudy to attempt. The only appetizing thing that I found was the ice cream.
...spotty service. You get the right server, it's not bad. You get the owner, good luck to you. Very efficient here: they seemed to get you in and out. You are nothing more than a little revenue-generator each time you walk in.Range of food is good. The quality of food is pretty good. Price is decent for what you get. If you're hungry and want something quick, this is the place to go.
