Chris made a point of checking everything was ok and making sure we enjoyed our meal. Beef comes medium rare which is how we like it but our waitress did check before we ordered. Lovely home made Yorkshire and fresh vegetables which came to our table piping hot. We’ll definitely be back, well worth the short drive out of town.
We had an amazing dining experience at The Golden Eagle based on multiple recommendations, and we were not let down. The small plates were perfect for us as we ordered several and couldn't stop raving about each one. Chris has curated a small but impeccable menu, with the Aged beef being a standout dish. The winter cocktail treasure island sauce truly lives up to its name. The desserts were also a highlight, with three of us ordering four different options to suit our tastes. This is definitely THE place to visit!
Great new chef-landlord and menu! Whilst retaining its local pub atmosphere Chris has added a great dimension- delicious food. His menu with everything prepared in the kitchen adds a twist here and there raising it well above pub grub. We had the 2 mains, lamb pie and roast poussin, both with real depth of flavour. There are small plates which you can combine as starter or main, the chicken parfait a winner.
What a gem of a place ! Recently taken over , this village pub has a superb new menu that offers small plates as well as larger main courses. I had the soup which was really filling with unusual sides of savoy cabbage , spicy wedges and delicious bread. Friends had the pie which also got a big thumbs up. The staff were all really friendly too,
We are delighted to finally have an outstanding pub in the village. Friendly efficient welcoming staff. Enthusiastic ambitious chef/ owner. Experienced chef from traditional pubs. Everything about my Friday night trip with my husband and mid week trip with friends, was good. Lovely staff, good variety of drinks and delicious food.
