The most delightful and freshest spot on the island! We always head to GH for all our fresh seafood—crabs, fish, scallops... they truly offer the best! Amy is also incredibly kind! We really miss GH when we have to depart at the end of the season!

Although it's a small market, there are some great options available. We were looking for seafood for a big family dinner and ended up getting scallops, grouper, salmon, and shrimp. Everything was quite delicious, although a little on the pricey side. The woman at the register was very friendly, adding to our experience. The place has an older charm and definitely captures the essence of an island seafood market. Overall, we enjoyed everything we purchased!

I purchased a bag of 50 clams and took them home to prepare linguini with clam sauce. Every single clam opened up beautifully, and they were incredibly fresh and clean. I will definitely be returning to this family-run business. The service at the store was friendly and welcoming. You could really see that Gary, the owner, is hardworking. As a New Englander, I can confidently say these clams were just as good, and at $18, they were a fantastic deal! Thank you!

I have been going to Chincoteague Island for over 40 years and know there are some great places to get fresh seafood. Gary Howard seafood is an institution on the a island that is best know by word of mouth. They have seafood available for you to cook on your own or they will steam it for you. One thing to note is that they no longer offer fried seafood. This was a bit disappointing because they used to offer some of tastiest clam strips around. This time we had steamed crabs and they were amazing! The medium seasoning was perfect. Another overlooked fact is that blue crabs are meatier (heavier) in the fall, so September is a great time to enjoy them and at a more reasonable price.

Amazing place! We got 2 dozen blue crabs. Ordered them day of, actually added on the second dozen later on and they were very accommodating. Very flavorful crabs and the prices were amazing! $30 for a dozen. That's a crazy deal compared to restaurant prices. They steamed and seasoned the crabs for us (they offer mild, medium, or spicy) we got medium. Went home and had a wonderful little crab feast.
