Mercato Kitchen - City of Ithaca

The best scallops I've ever tasted! It's not inexpensive, but if you're a food lover, you definitely shouldn't miss checking out Mercato!

This place is absolutely perfect. We arrived at the bar around 5:40 PM. The restaurant opens at 5:30, and by the time we got there, all the tables were already occupied...

I initially hesitated because the menu was quite limited, but Mercato more than compensated for the lack of options with exceptional quality and a fantastic atmosphere! I had anticipated...

What a delightful surprise! My boyfriend and I were passing through Ithaca on our way to the Finger Lakes and were in need of a dinner spot. He reached out to an old friend who lives there, and their prompt recommendation was Mercato. Although we tend to be cautious with Italian restaurants, we decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did. The meal was fantastic from start to finish. We began with the bruschetta trio, which they graciously split for us, making sharing a breeze. My boyfriend ordered the steak, which was cooked to perfection, and the shoestring fries were absolutely gorgeous. I had the pork Milanese, which was thin, crispy, and juicy. We also ordered a side of broccolini that was wonderfully garlicky and cooked to my liking, with just the right amount of crunch. The bartender assisted us in choosing a bottle of wine that turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. If you're in Ithaca, definitely make a stop here for dinner; it’s well worth it!
