They started selling at a farmers market in Chelsea, where we had the pleasure of trying these treasures. We were instantly hooked! My daughter insisted on visiting the nice ladies every Saturday for her special treat! We are so thrilled that they now have a beautiful shop in Soho that we can visit during the week as well! Cutter and Squidge uses only all natural ingredients so you really taste the flavours as they are meant to taste. Their biskies (cake like biscuits with a cream filling) are amazing!! They are moist, flavourful, delicious and truly unique! And did I mention the cakes? They are so scrumptious! Cutter and Squidge has made the birthday cakes for all of my children's parties and everyone raves about them! Not only are they beautiful, but so so good! If I could give them stars, I would!
If you love cake dates, dessert dates or simply have an insatiable sweet tooth, then you have to ensure you visit this adorable new Soho biskie hot spot before it becomes all the rage, assuming it isn't already. And in case you aren't familiar with the term biskie (and I wasn't till I arrived here), this is a beautiful marrying up of the concepts of cookies, biscuits and cakes. Soft cookie like layers sandwiched with buttercream and often other fillings. The one I chose today was apple and cinamon flavoured, with a delicious portion of apple compote sandwiched in between alongside the buttercream. Other flavours include Earl Grey, pistachio and rose, chocolate and hazelnut and the list goes on the range is ample so you can be sure you'll find something to suit your taste. They also have a stunning range of cakes, many pastel coloured and flawlessly decorated and a few treats for sale including bags of honeycomb, chocolate shards and homemade salted caramel sauce. And as if all of this isn't temptation enough, even the range of hot drinks makes you stop to think with choices such as matcha latte and salted caramel hot chocolate on the menu.I asked if they had breakfast choices available but at this stage, it's still something they're working on but they assured me a breakfast menu is coming soon and I eagerly await that because with its chic interior design and splashes of colour and soundtrack that made me want to get up and dance, this is a perfect place for a drink and a warm drink with friends, or indeed as I did most recently, for a spot of alone time.
We visited the potions room this afternoon to celebrate our daughters birthday. The potions rooms were recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed. The wizard was brilliant, my daughter loved the potions class and the food was yummy. A perfect...way to start a Weekend of birthday celebrations.
I booked the Potion Room afternoon tea as a Christmas treat for my year old Harry Potter mad daughter. After a difficult year in the pandemic, I wanted to do something really memorable and special for her. We travelled all the way from Somerset...for this experience just a couple of days before Christmas But when we arrived on the doorstep of Cutter and Squidge, we were confused to find the shop locked up and in darkness. I rang the number, thinking we must be at the wrong address or some other confusion, but was told they had had to close a few days before due to staff shortages. When I told the person on the phone we had travelled from Somerset and were on the doorstep, he hung up on me! My daughter was in floods of tears and we were left in London with no alternative plan and of course all other Christmas treats and activities were fully booked. I have since contacted C&S but their response has been largely uncaring. In spite of the fact I've sent them proof of the Eventbrite reminder emails sent just days before our visit, they maintain it must be my mistake and that they believe they emailed everyone who had booked. This is simply not the case. What should have been a happy memory instead became a really upsetting experience made worse by appalling customer service. All they have offered is come back another time and be upgraded to VIP' (which would cost me an extra fiver basically). So they expect me to travel all the way from Somerset again, at my own expense, a hour trip, pay them for the experience and their version of an apology is a goody bag? A heartfelt apology, the offer of a free tea if we returned or maybe just a cake in the post to my daughter...any gesture would have been nice to acknowledge the huge let down we experienced. Instead they seemed keen to blame me for their mistake. I wanted to forgive them because they are clearly struggling in the pandemic but their attitude, in particular as this was a Christmas treat for a child who ended up in tears, was completely unforgivable. Absolutely awful and unforgettable for all the wrong reasons
The Potion Room experience is fantastic!!!! I have wanted to do this for several years, but could never get a time. However, as they reopened from Covid, I was able to book this for of us--my goddaughter and her grandmother. Thank you to Pippa...Popcorn for letting me know when the dates I needed were open. I had no idea what to really expect, but was blown away. This is one of those things to do for FUN. Go, enjoy. No you will not be Professor Snape at the end, but if you just go for the magic, there is plenty there. The facility is small, so only a few people at a time, which makes it even more intimate and cool The area is brilliantly decorated!! Look up, check out the bookshelves, go behind the counter—yes, ask or wait to be invited. Wanted to come home and find a room to turn into my potions place. So, you do get to make your own potion, a Galaxy Juice, which was just fun and not bad Now this is pretty simple mixing of ingredients, but hey it’s the fun of being there, immersed in the experience. The food delicious with several options, a range of teas and other drinks. I loved the tiny, could have eaten a gross of them, Roast Beef Yorkshire Pudding!!!! The other items equally delicious. There were a nice variety of sandwiches and savories, plus the regular suspects for a tea. I adored the smoked cheese and tomato relish, the British do these sort of condiments so well. And the desert served in a cauldron...heaven. But the fun came when our Potions Master began the interactive tea. He was amazing!!! That guy needs to be an actor, perhaps he is, but he’s fabulous!!!! For me, it was the experience, no, not Harry Potter, but fun, a couple of hours enjoying the ambiance. I travel places to do new things, have new experiences. This ticked both. Don’t expect too much, bring your sense of fun and adventure, enjoy the fact you can do these sorts of things. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Will be looking at the schedule for the summer. Book early, it fills up quickly.
